Summer time in Argentina:

Summer is holiday time for most people in my country. Sea side towns get crowded as from the second half of December. The season finishes in February and thousands of people from all over the country visit the seaside resorts.

One of the most popular places is Mar del Plata (Sea of Silver) which is in fact a big city by the sea. Unfortunatelly, the sea is quite contamitated there and the beach is rather crowded all the time.

For those families who prefer quiet places, there are little towns by the sea such as Mar del Tuyu and Santa Teresita where the beach is not as full of people. Some people practise sports at the beach too. For example, there are many young people who love surfing or windsurfing. There are also special boats to go fishing and other funny activities such as boat races and rowing.

2012 seems to be a good year for all the people who work in tourism here. Most hotels have booked most of their rooms for the whole of January and there are also private homes to rent for the summer.

I was at the seaside las December. We had a great time there with some friends. we sunbathed and relaxed for some days. A well deserved break for all of us who work a lot along the year!!!
