Wag More, Bark Less

2013-11-13

You will often see this bumper sticker on cars in the States*. But what does it mean?

The verb “to wag” describes the fast back and forth motion of something. For example, a dog’s tail, when he’s very happy or excited.

The verb “to bark” describes the sound dogs make when they are upset in some way or angry.

So this bumper sticker “wag more, bark less” means that we should spend more time being happy and positive and less time being grumpy and negative.

*the States is what American native speakers often use in conversation to refer to their country.
