Seattle – the land of ‘coffee’ and ‘nature’!

2010-07-06

I live in Seattle, WA. It reminds me of Kobe, Japan where I lived. There is the sea/ocean on one side and mountains on the other side. In fact, the sister city of Seattle is Kobe, Japan.

People in Seattle are quiet and calm. Clerks at the stores take time to talk with you while you are shopping. The number one thing in Seattle is COFFEE! Starbucks, Seattle’s Best and Tully’s are all here! You MUST love to drink coffee to enjoy the atmosphere.

Sightseeing is popular here. Pike’s Place Market is very popular for locals or tourists. You can see people throwing fish, buying fresh flowers or vegetables, and eating local homemade products. Seattle’s Space Needle provides you a wonderful view of the entire city.

If you like baseball, you have to visit Mariners’ stadium where Ichiro Suzuki plays.

Alki Beach is a beautiful beach in West Seattle. You can see people running or playing beach volleyball from spring to fall.I would recommend take a cruise around the harbor if you come for a visit. You see all the sites. For cuisine, you should try the seafood on the waterfront or a restaurant called, ‘Salty’s.’ It’s expensive but very delicious!

I hope you have a chance to visit this area. It’s really beautiful in summer. It’s not too hot or rainy. Otherwise, it’s like London, you will need an umbrella. ;)
