The best way to study English

2014-06-13

The best way an ESL student can improve their writing is by exchanging written communication with a Native English Speaker, preferably a teacher who can give them both, insights into Western cultural customs and an insider understanding of English grammar.

English can be very tricky. Even Native English speakers and teachers have problems using correct grammar. For example, when do we use who and when do we use whom? Is it was or were? All these can be learned through practice.

Written exchanges are the best way to gain an insider understanding of the English language as it is putting all our learning into practice. It is also a good way to work on improving vocabulary because a teacher can suggest ways to make a student's writing more sophisticated.

This is what makes the MailPal system so beneficial. Students can study in the privacy of their own homes in their own convenient time and reflect on what they have learnt. In schools, often the learning is hurried and students are consumed with other thoughts, through MailPal, a student makes time to learn when it is convenient to them. This means that more of the students' concentration can be devoted to the task at hand as they have made the time themselves.
