地震お見舞いメッセージ

2011-03-13

To the MailPal students,
I want to express my deepest thoughts and concern for the tragic events that happened in Japan on Friday, March 11. A 8.9 earthquake, a 23 foot tsunami, the continual aftershocks (you are still experiencing), and the threat of the nuclear reactors are beyond comprehension and words. I pray for the continued safety of you, your family and friends during this unexplainable tragedy. For those in the hardest hit areas of northeast Japan near Sendai-shi, I pray they will be rescued soon and Japan can rebuild -- as your country as done so many times after large earthquakes.

On a personal note: My husband, who is Japanese, has been in Japan (Saitama prefecture, Koshigaya-shi area) with his family for over a week when the earthquake hit. He is still there as I write this message. Therefore, I have been living this unforeseen tragedy along with you all. I truly want to thank the MailPal staff, especially Sano-san, who tried to get communication to my husband and family there when there was no communication method from overseas. My husband and his family are safe for now too. I am continually in contact with them and my friends all over Japan.

I will continue to pray for the safety of all the Japanese people and the country as a whole.
