Hello Mail Pal students

2013-02-13

Hello Mail Pal students,

Thank you for your patience during my maternity leave. I’ve missed all my students these past few months and I’m excited to be back! As you may know I had another baby; a baby girl and we named her Kogetsu Beatrice. We wanted to use the kanji from my husband’s mother in her Japanese name and the middle name was my grandmother’s. It’s very common in America to honor a family member by using their whole name or part of their name.

My baby daughter is thriving and growing well. She is an easy baby to make happy; you just have to hold her…all-day-long. If you put her down she cries but the moment you pick her up she’s happy again. This is hard to do since my older son is still at home with me. Some days I don’t have time to wash the dishes or fold the laundry.

My husband was very happy to have a girl and we are savoring each and every little moment. This is our last child so we don’t want to miss a thing. Her older brother has been very sweet towards Kogetsu and even helps with the diapers. He will go to yochien from April and I’m looking forward to some ‘’girl’s time’’ with just my daughter.

I hope to hear from you soon with any grammar questions you have or just to chat. Once again, I’m very happy to be back working for Mail Pal!

Cheers Elizabeth
