Family reunion

Family Reunions are an important and fun part of American life. This is especially true now, as families move to distant states (or countries!) for work, or for a lifestyle.

Family reunions can be small, or they can be big, and include many generations of family. At my own family reunion are sometimes 100 people! The often happen in the summer, when the kids are all out of school.

So what happens at a family reunion? Well, food is always a big and important part! And conversation! There are often lawn games, like volleyball, with lots of friendly rivalry. It is also an important time to remember people who have passed away, and talk about fond family memories.

Family reunions are a great time to meet new babies and new spouses who have joined the family.

We recently went to Texas for my husband’s family reunion. It was wonderful seeing family that we don’t often get to see!
